Multi-Sector Trade Mission to Canada
We invite Illinois small businesses to join the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunities’ Office of Trade and Investment on a multi-sector trade mission to Canada, June 9-15, 2024. Participants will receive a customized itinerary which will include one-on-one pre-vetted meetings with potential distributors and business partners.
The United States and Canada enjoy the world’s largest and most comprehensive trading relationship that supports millions of jobs in each country and constitutes a $1.95 trillion bilateral trade and investment relationship. In 2022, Canada accounted for 14.2% of all
U.S. goods exports, and maintained its position as top trading partner. Currently, Canada and the United States trade over $2.5 billion in goods and services daily.
Canada is also Illinois’ largest export market, with $24 Billion in sales going to Canada in 2022. Top exports from Illinois include chemicals, transportation equipment, machinery, petroleum and coal products, food products, as well as aerospace, and medical equipment.
Participation Details:
Companies selected to participate in the mission will receive the following, in accordance with ISTEP Program eligibility guidelines:
- Pre-scheduled B2B matchmaking
- In-country briefings and networking events
- 50% – 75% reimbursements of lodging and air costs
- Assistance with travel logistics
Participation Fee: $750
